About this typing test
This test measures your words per minute (WPM), raw WPM and accuracy as you type a randomly generated passage, entirely in your browser. Pick a fixed time or word count, add punctuation or numbers for a tougher run, and check the results screen to see which characters slow you down most.
How is WPM calculated?
Every 5 correctly typed characters count as one word, divided by the minutes elapsed. Raw WPM uses the same formula but counts every character typed, mistakes included.
What counts as an error?
Any character typed differently from the target text is incorrect. Missed characters were never typed, and extra characters were typed beyond the word's length.
Is my typing data saved anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded or stored, and refreshing the page clears it.
